SPRING Academy

SPRING Academy – 10 days of theatre, dance and more: performances, workshops, lectures, encounters and exchange.

SPRING Performing Arts Festival asks artists that present their works at the festival to share more than ‘just’ a performance within the contours of its contextual program, the SPRING Academy. SPRING Academy offers various platforms for the invited artists to share their knowledge and experience with students and (emerging) artists in different ways. Watching performances is followed by intriguing encounters and workshops for body and mind where participants and artists reflect together on the performances and topics addressed. Not to forget discussions concerning the arts field and the position and responsibility of the arts in contemporary societies.

SPRING Festival Fellow
The Festival Fellowship-program is an initiative taken by the Centre for the Humanities (Utrecht University) that collaborates with festivals to organize activities that bring academic discourse and the Utrecht cultural field closer together. A Festival Fellow is asked to act as a connector.

It is our pleasure to announce Prof. Dorita Hannah (University of Tasmania) as the SPRING Festival Fellow in 2017. As Festival Fellow, Hannah will lead some of the contextual programs of SPRING Academy and give a series of guest lectures at Utrecht University.
